08/12/09: And still I have no letters!

... and still nobody has written to me! As some of you may know I have been on sick rest as I tweaked my fetlock playing with Roscoe in the field. I couldn't help myself, I was just sooooooooooooo excited at being able to play with him. I promised mummy 1 & 2 that i would rest and not run too fast on it while it was getting better, but as usual i couldn't contain my excitement... and tweaked it again!
So it was a trip down to Cockermouth to visit my good friend mister vet man, who my mummies call 'Andrew'. He loves seeing me, we always play this game where he like, holds my leg up in a funny position for a minute, and then he drops it and shouts go, and whichever mummy is holding me has to run as fast as they can. I don't know why we do it, but it is great fun. When he bends my leg it makes it feel funny so it gives my mummies a head start, I guess it is only fair as i have four legs and they have two and if he didn't do the bendy thing then I would beat them easily EVERY time! And well this time we did a normal race, and then we did another one and he tried to catch me out by bending my leg a way he never has before, but I was still good and got to the other side of the car park at the same time as mummy 1. Anyway then I can't remember much... just a sharp pain in my neck and then everything started spinning and I felt very, very tired. It was very strange, then before i knew it i was back in the car park as fresh as a daisy. I had apparently had some x-rays and scans, and mister vet man said I had perfect 'bone density' and beautiful 'joints', 'ligaments' and 'tendons', whatever that means!
Anyway then the rain came, how awful, I found that rather scary! It seems to have settled down now though, I hope you are all ok. Since the rains came my field has been taken over by sheep as they don't like swimming and a lot of our land is very, very wet, and the tiniest piece of rain means it becomes a swimming pool again, so I have rented my field out to them. So I have spent my days very bored in my stable watching the hours tick by, none of you lot wrote to me, or have sent me get well soon cards, or christmas cards come to think of it! So i have taken up a new hobby.... HAIR DRESSING! I have been practicing on my tail, what do you think???

I was taken for a small hack in walk today to survey the water levels, was a nice change, and I behaved myself, mummy 1 was ever so surprised, especially seen as Sonny was oingy boingying around with mummy 2. I have heard mummy 1 & 2 discussing how due to my 'medical situation' I need a month of this walking work to strengthen my beautiful 'joints', 'ligaments' and 'tendons'.... hmmm sounds boring to me so please get in touch with me to keep me entertained... you can send letters and cards to Prince Bucks Fizz, Cherry Bank, Underskiddaw, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 4PY. Anybody that writes to me or sends me a card will get a mention in my next blog! I am considering running some competitions next year so keep your eyes and ears open! Anyway, back to my haynet, speak to you all soon!
Lots of love Fizz

Well I’m the head of the stables at Cherry Bank, near keswick. I determine how things are ran, including when meal times are and how long my friends get in the field. I had an enjoyable successful career in the show ring, till my jockey, Mummy 1, got old. I usually spend the most of winter living out in the fields and every year around December I get brought into the stable and start to hear whispers about coming back into work?! Gutting, every year I think i've been retired with my old pal Jaffa. But it is not to be, I’m sure life will be a lot easier now i don't have to trail the country chasing those 'hoys' qualifiers or whatever she called them. I don't need to go to 'Horse of the Year Show' to be told I’m the best anymore, i already know i am! Mummy 1 is also called Rachel Simpson. She goes to 'committee meetings'. Now she she needs you to send things for her to talk about at meetings... I've suggested lobbying to change the pony racing height limit to include me, abolishing stable management in favour of treat testing days and the possibility of me and my brother Billy Jackson organising a fashion show for horses, but they all fell on deaf ears, you would think i spoke in a different language...
