23/02/09: Meeting New Faces

October 19, 2010

Sorry i did not get round to updating this immediately, i have been taking it easy in the field, it is what happens when your a good boy. The pony party on friday was brill, i was in a special group with my friends Rambo and Buddy, and finally got to meet Tori's new girl, she is little on the large side for me but there was a bit of chemistry between us, not that i can blame her, i do think i am the best looking boy in the club! Aimee kept telling mummy 1 i looked so cute all these other little nice words, and she just kept agreeing! I am a macho man now not a pretty little show pony! How many Show Pony's do you see out eventing? Pffft those two do not know what they are talking about!

But anyway, as you can expect Miss Linton fell head over hooves in love with me, as i displayed my cheeky but charming personality, she seemed most impressed! And she even told Rambo to get out of my way when he kept lapping me whilst we were doing complicated cross over leg things, just cos he could do them at race horse speed, i like to take my time with things like that, and i only had to frown a couple of times and she told him to get out of MY space :) He took it in good heart though after throwing a few phrases my way about me being a "dippy little show pony" n every time we passed he would holla "fatty" or "stumpy legs" in my direction....but i understand people like him, they are just jealous. I am like his friend that he looks up to, he wants to be me, and to be honest i better start doing some work in the dressage arena or he will be pipping me to the red rosette!!

We then had a leisurely snack break and mummy 1 set too giving me a great massage, all over! Either she was pleased with me, or was bored and trying to warm her hands up! I then was offered some lovely apple juice which i had a good supp of, and that made me realise that not only did Miss Linton fall in love with me, but that mummy 1 was happy with me, and i tell you that takes some doing. Miss Linton wanted to take me home but muumy 1 said that i was ok with her for now. Since when did she have a say in where i lived?!? So when mummy 1 popped into the wagon i tried to find Miss Linton to get her contact details, but she was busy talking to her next group.

The next element to the party was my favourite! Jumping! Mummy was a bit rusty in her riding, and i had to look after her once or twice, and even though i had not jumped for over 6 months i tackled every challenge Mister Wadge set us with ease. I did not think i had touched a pole but i must have lightly tapped one as mummy 2 said i had picked up some paint on one of my back feet, oh well can't be perfect all of the time can we! What i liked most about that lesson was that Mister Wadge made mummy 1 leave me alone to do my stuff, it is most annoying when im coming in to a fence and she starts to play shirades on the end of my reins, talk about giving a boy the wrong signals!! After 7 years i have nearly got used to it, i would actually prefer to just go it alone with out her, i don't really need her sat up there.

I left that arena to a welcoming of polo's off mummy 2 and yet more apple juice. This was a good party to get the season started with, my hooves are itching to get out there now and show everybody what i am made of!

15/02/09: Dressage Part with Aunty Linda!

October 19, 2010

I had a rather exciting day yesterday! Mummy 1 had obviously gotten out of the wrong side of the bed yesterday morning, she still had sleep in her eyes and her brain wasn't functioning very well, not that i minded, i nearly got put out in the field with the welsh one as mummy 1 had forgotten to get him in before she started leading me out. Sadly i never did get to play with him as he pricked his ears to see who was coming and so she saw him and realised what she had nearly done. I just sighed...

15/02/09: Trudge, Trudge...

October 19, 2010

As you can see i am writing this from my bed! I have been unable to get on to update you of my daily doings because mummy 1 has been busy writing a 'dissertation', which i am told is lots and lots of words long. To be honest i do not understand why she has been making such a fuss about having to write so much. If she writes as fast and as much as she talks when she is around me then she shouldn't have any problems. Updating my blog is far more important!

I am still on with my boring fittening ...

24/01/09: Hello Mister Farrier Man

October 19, 2010

Anybody that knows me knows that i always like to look my best so when mummy 1 failed to appear with all her clipping and trimming equipment i thought that i better start my re-beautification off myself. So i set about rubbing my newly grown  bushy tail on my stable wall to try and remove the excess frizz that mummy 1 normally pulls out for me. When my mummies came down the next day i couldn't tell if they were squealing with joy at my initiative or whether they were annoyed with what i had g...

02/01/09: Today is the day!

October 19, 2010

I have been removed from my muddy play pen and as per usual mummy 1 whipped my rug off and set to with all her massaging tools, i try to pretend i do not enjoy it but really i do and sometimes i just can't stop my lip from twitching, and once it goes everything goes and mummy 1 laughs at me, and shouts over mummy 2 to come watch and i feel like a right fool. She made me look nice though, and made me pose for this picture, although she missed a bit of mud in my forelock so i couldn't fully l...

About Me

Prince Bucks Fizz Well I’m the head of the stables at Cherry Bank, near keswick. I determine how things are ran, including when meal times are and how long my friends get in the field. I had an enjoyable successful career in the show ring, till my jockey, Mummy 1, got old. I usually spend the most of winter living out in the fields and every year around December I get brought into the stable and start to hear whispers about coming back into work?! Gutting, every year I think i've been retired with my old pal Jaffa. But it is not to be, I’m sure life will be a lot easier now i don't have to trail the country chasing those 'hoys' qualifiers or whatever she called them. I don't need to go to 'Horse of the Year Show' to be told I’m the best anymore, i already know i am! Mummy 1 is also called Rachel Simpson. She goes to 'committee meetings'. Now she she needs you to send things for her to talk about at meetings... I've suggested lobbying to change the pony racing height limit to include me, abolishing stable management in favour of treat testing days and the possibility of me and my brother Billy Jackson organising a fashion show for horses, but they all fell on deaf ears, you would think i spoke in a different language...
